The transformation of a Child Therapist to Parent Coach…in her own words.
"I once worked as a Therapist in a shelter for abused and neglected children on the East Coast. In my work at this shelter, in addition to my other duties, we had a component where families in the community who were frustrated with their children and felt like they might hurt their children, could come into our facility and get free anonymous services with me. I was the only person at the agency and within the County to be providing this service.
We provided a short-term resource for these parents. What I found in working with many of these parents was that often families were able to turn things around much more quickly with setting clear, specific, solution focused goals. Within
weeks, families were communicating more effectively, enjoying
each other more, and together anticipating potential pitfalls
and problem solving their solutions. It was a highly energizing and gratifying experience for all, myself included.
It was from this experience that becoming a Parent Coach was born.
Coaching parents to be the greatest resource
for their children is so powerful.
I look forward to speaking with you and helping you to achieve your most valued parenting goals."
